-RH Salvaged Wood Kitchen Island
Another round-up of furniture made it out the door last night. What luck we're having in meeting such wonderful people throughout this whole process...
Our first set of new friends—a couple of high school sweethearts who have been together for years—drove from Pennsylvania to pick up the Restoration Hardware pieces. They, themselves, have spent a very long time restoring their farm-house property and had been looking for this exact kitchen island for quite some time. Like the two of them, it was clearly a match meant to be! :)
While piecing it apart to carry down the stairs last night, they set their eyes on the Saddle Chair and simply couldn't leave without it. We're happy to say that the furniture will surely have a long, happy life ahead of itself—and it sounds like it will be back on the farm and in its element.
As for the sliding door, yes—it is that same one we wrote about a couple days ago! So happy to know that we got the chance to reflect on it a bit before it made its way out.
Finally, as those affected by September 11th in ways many of us cannot comprehend take the time to reflect, our hearts are with you today and always. In reflecting, my wish is that we all leave enough space to feel hope as well. I, for one, am hopeful that the world has so much light to soak in, despite dark moments—and as much as we reflect over the past, it should not be without hope for the future.
And since it is also the time of the Jewish New Year, it is symbolic to plant hopes and dreams in the ground and water them. To know that everything is possible now, and always.
Wishing every one the sweetest new year, or period in life, full of of hope and happiness!
שנה טובה ומתוקה לכל אחד!
Catch you later this weekend,
