First, wishing everyone a beautiful new year today!
קודם כל, שנה טובה ומתוקה לכולם!
Yesterday we stepped out of the usual Saturday routine and woke up at 7am to meet some Birchbox friends for a 5k run in Prospect Park. We ran for T.E.A.L.—to raise funds and awareness for the fight against ovarian cancer.
First of all, it was a beautiful day before the rain set in—the perfect day for such a worthy cause. It was our first time in Prospect Park, and the whole experience surely opened our eyes to new places and possibilities in this city. What a Farmer's Market you Brooklynites have going on there!
Surprisingly, there were many more people going off to start their day at 7am than we anticipated. By the end of it all, we were definitely sleep deprived (should have gone to bed earlier!), but we returned home by noon having accomplished so much already: - meeting with friends and coming together for a positive cause; - visiting a new neighborhood; -giving the body a nice run; - and enjoying a well earned breakfast altogether. Making good use of life!
We made it back home just in time to open our doors to a couple groups of people interested in living here on Wooster Street—and then we spent the next hour face-timing and telephone-ing with family across the States and around the world.
4pm came around and I had an itch for couple of things:
- A really nice homemade dinner: so off to the market we would go!
- Some new technology: with all the interest around Leaving Wooster, and all the success we've had thus far in selling our furniture, I decided that I needed a new MacBook.
So we did those things. Before the market we stepped into that ever-so-packed Apple Store on Prince and looked into a new computer...and we walked out their doors just as intended: with a new Apple for the new year! ;)
That said, this 11" MacBook Air that I've loved for so long still has a long life ahead of it. It needs a new home too!
As we speak, the little guy is over there in the corner, getting wiped clean from old files and forgotten writings: tidying up and getting light in his own way, if you will.
In an hour or two, he will be ready for some new hands. We're supporting his new journey into the world by giving him his very own spot in the sun on our shop. Check him out here!
So there we are, everyone! For those celebrating the new year and for those just looking forward to a new period in their lives, wishing you all days full of success, happiness, love, health, and luck as you move forward to conquer. Maybe, just maybe, you need a new computer to join you for the ride. :)
All in all, make sure you do and eat things that sweeten your life today. Anything is possible!
Until tomorrow,
-P&A
