[August 17th, 2015]
I walked out of our very dark bedroom this morning, and my eyes were suddenly pierced by just a little more light than usual. I'm looking around at the empty corners (yes, there are empty corners! it's working!), and there's more sunshine seeping through these windows than I've seen in a very long time.
Aviv and I joked yesterday that when the realtor finally starts showing the loft beginning September, eager renters are going to walk in and wonder why such a beautiful space was wasted by people who can't seem to fill it up and decorate appropriately. Haha! I almost feel like I need to hang a picture of the "before" as proof that we took advantage of our space+time here. :)
In terms of sifting through clothing and the like, we didn't quite meet that goal I was talking about hitting earlier in the week—but we did successfully get through half of it. From a timing perspective, we aren't doing too shabby.
A plus is that Aviv spent some time updating the shop with even more of our possessions for purchase. Definitely head on over there and take a look at the smaller things that covered our walls and sat on some tabletops. Find something beautiful to reclaim!
We'll finish the second half of all the clothing, books, and shoes this week and begin packing a separate suitcase (yes, I'm adding a second!) of things that we'll be keeping for life. This one won't be hopping around NYC with us—instead, we'll save it at one of our sibling's places and pick it up when we make our final exit sometime next year.
This one will be packed full of photo albums, letters, and books that are obviously meant to be with us forever.
I'm 99.9% certain that I won't be adding a third... :)
Wishing everyone a very successful week ahead!
