There are parts to this experience that feel like the stars aligned exactly at the right time for us. Where in one moment, we think we have a knot in the plan, and the next moment the world answers back with a solve...
So here we are: we took on this venture where we needed — and wanted — to find a new home for each object we owned. Most objects, we chose to celebrate on the Leaving Wooster shop, but undoubtedly there were some things, like our entire collection of kitchenware for example (boxes worth!), where the thought of putting each and every fork, frying pan, and electric cooking item in the shop felt just a little too funky. A knot! What would we do with these things instead?
Enter my sister. Leila moved to NYC from Scottsdale, Arizona exactly this time last year. She found an apartment and moved in with my wonderful friend Whitney immediately—who, lucky for both of them, already had all the kitchenware and living room items they would need to fill their place in Bushwick. My sister felt lucky then, landing with an awesome roommate who had their living situation all figured out...but what about this month, a year later, when Leila moved into a new place?
Fortunately for Leila (again!), she's got a sister getting rid of everything she owns! :)
And last night, as she made her final rounds with the movers to grab all her remaining objects from Brooklyn and replant them in the East Village, she stopped by and took all of our kitchen utensils, plates, bowls, electronic cooking items, pots + pans, and more away. All those little kitchen things are off our hands, and all we gotta say is that her timing is impeccable...
Now if only we could find someone who desperately wanted to babysit a turtle for a year... ;)
Wishing everyone a wonderful end to the week! Happy Friday!
